Cannot click on links, get low beep sound

I cannot click on most links the regular way since my kids played games on my computer. I can right click and hit open. When I click on most links, nothing but a muted beep sound happens. I went to TOOL: Internet Options: Advanced: Restore Advanced Settings, didn't work. Windows XP and IE. Thanks!
